Truck Revolution- Trends with Benefits

Food trucks have been on the scene for a minute, but the idea of mobile services, other than food, is the next big thing. With everything from dog food to flower trucks to full-blown rolling retail stores, the food truck movement was just the beginning.

Special thanks to Los Angeles truck stalwarts, Le Fashion Truck, the Flower Truck, and the Original Mobile Barbershop Co. for taking part.

Mobile Flowers, who woulda thought…..

SHIRLEY BRAUNE, Owner & Chief Fun Officer
A native of South Texas, Shirley Braune trained under John Zimmer of Zimmer Floral in Beeville, Texas where she found a natural hand in creating floral arrangements. She later opened her own store in Three Rivers, Texas before taking a break to raise her three children. After a successful career in the mortgage industry, she relocated to the Austin area. From humble beginnings to rediscovering her passion for flowers and joy of bringing smiles to people, her creativity and flower truck business have grown ever since.

From arrangements created for celebratory events like birthdays, holidays, and saying ‘I Love You’ to special events, weddings, and personal décor, The Flower Truck provides a distinctive touch to a variety of clients and occasions through an all-in-one market. Seasonality informs and inspires our work on The Flower Truck and we love bringing smiles and happiness to our customers. From ‘Create Your Own’ Bouqets to Weekly Specials, The Flower Truck composes arrangements to us how beautiful a flower and nature can be.

It all started with a little plastic collapsible reusable vase, a good idea, and a dream. Founder Jennifer Kaplan was inspired by the little vase given to her by a friend and created the idea of a mobile flower shop. After happening upon an old rickety ice cream truck her vision became a reality. After a successful run in the LA area, Jennifer sold the company to Shirley Braune, who was eager to continue the dream and her love of flowers and making people smile.

Shirley moved the truck to Austin, Texas and introduced it to the people. Many stop by as the truck is out and about and take pictures and tell us that the idea is an awesome one, much like when it was in LA. It is the perfect addition to the Austin area mobile truck industry.
